HMP Ashfield is a Category C adult male training prison built on the site of the former remand centre in the village of Pucklechurch on the North East side of Bristol.

The project, which ran over the warmer months June – November, covered the replacement of the existing atmospheric boilers, flues, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, dosing pots and several of the existing fixed speed heating circulating pumps across six areas, Avon Houseblock, Barrier Building, Reception Building, Kitchen, Gatehouse and Severn Houseblock.

The existing boiler plant in the plantrooms had been installed in 1999 and had become aged and beyond economical repair or maintenance.
